Superstars!
Wow! We have had a great week in FS2. The children have settled into school really well and I am SO proud of every single one of them.
We have had a busy week exploring our new environment and getting to know a little bit about our new friends. As a class, we have been talking about what rules we should have in our classroom so that we know what to do. With a little prompting, the children came up with "walking, listening, sharing, be kind, be helpful and be careful." The children knew that we need to be careful in the sandpit because "it will make your eyes sore." The children also told me "we walk inside don't we". To help us remember the class rules we made a 'Class Charter' and the most popular choice was to have a tree.
During the second half of the week we learnt about what the word 'safety' means and how to keep safe inside. To start the children off I asked them what will happen if we take all the toys out and don't put them back. The children told their partner their thoughts. They then could tell me other ways of keeping safe, remembering conversations about why we do a register and fill out the fire card!
